For many, June 11th is a special Hug Day. However, in some regions, the entire third week of June is Hug Week.
Hug Days abound. January 21st has been known as World Hug Day. February 14th is Valentine's Day, the ultimate Hug Day. June 4th is Hug Your Cat Day. September 28th is Hug a Vegetarian Day. The third Saturday in October is Sweetest Day. Another hugging holiday is November 7th: Hug a Bear Day.
Software developers periodically hold Hugs-for-a-Bug Days. Those who find and remove viruses and other intrusions are rewarded with hugs. (If you've ever had a system crash, you will certainly understand.)
According to the Hugs for Health Foundation, the average person needs a daily dose of "four hugs for survival, eight hugs for maintenance, and twelve hugs for growth."
So . . . does anyone need a hug?
